I have never been that scared of heights before but after watching 46-year-old Swiss stuntman Freddy Nock ascending the nearly 10,000-foot-high mountain by tightrope walking a two-inch-wide cable car wire and that too without the aid of any safety gear gives me the shivers!
The man looked like he could almost walk in the air. He reminded me of Jesus Christ who once upon a time walked on water. The world record event which involves almost 90 minutes efforts from Nock was for a just cause—raising fund for United Nations agency UNICEF. I wondered how many people would do dangerous stunts for selfless purpose.
Nock’s attempt according to The Daily Mail, is the longest and highest wire-walk in history. There is also reports that the man is planning to drive a bike on a wire to raise fund for UNICEF again! Despite my inhibitions about heights, I’m planning not to miss that event on TV or on the internet.
Congrats to Mr Nock and all the best for his greater heights upcoming events.
