The boom of social networking sites ushered in a new era of web user behavior. Millions of people started using Facebook and Twitter to communicate and share their thoughts, photos, videos and about their personal lives with their friends and the world. Many technocrats predicted the death of blogging saying people will no longer use blogs!
However, to this day blogging is as popular as it was before.... more so because of these social networking sites. People share short messages or even links of their blogs' posts using Twitter and Facebook. These two sites bring more readers for blogs.
With the entry of Google in networking after Google+ introduction, it was opined that social networking sites will eventually replace blogs and personal websites. However, looking at the features of Google+, blogs are here to stay. Google+ has features similar to Facebook called "Circles" (in Facebook this is called Group). Bloggers and publishers are using this feature to share their latest views and blog posts within their circles.
One of the most important feature that will keep blogs or personal websites alive is the durability of the posts. In blogs, the readers can retrieve the detailed data, ideas, videos and photos as they please.
Blogging is here to stay! So, start blog this, blog that!
