Deccan Herald, the oldest newspaper in Bangalore will make a formal entry into the national capital on December 11, that is today.
The event coincides with 100 Years of Delhi as the Capital of India.
The launching of the New Delhi edition is not news anymore as words were already out sometime in August that it would become “the first South Indian publication to reach out to readers and advertisers in the North with a decidedly South Indian title.”
The New Delhi office as well as the main centre in Bangalore is buzzing with activities, according to reliable sources.
Reports from New Delhi said that VVIPs from Karnataka and Delhi besides the Prime Minister of India are expected to attend the launching of the newspaper early in the morning.
As of now, Deccan Herald is published from seven cities - Bengalore, Hubli, Mysore, Mangalore, Gulbarga, Davangare, Dharward.
The paper was started in 1948 and at present it has three publications – Kannada daily called Prajavani, Sudha (weekly magazine) and Mayura (monthly magazine).
