I have been using the services of several internet service providers and so far never had an issue wherein i cannot access certain websites until i started using BSNL Broadband service. I could not access my own website that I hosted on Wordpress platform!
I was pissed off and mind you the speed of BSNL (major service provider in India) is excellent but their customer service is somewhere close to pathetic. You cannot call them up to solve issues like this. Their man will come only when your line is down ….
OK, getting back. I want to share with you how to solve the issue here.
In most cases, these issue arises due to MTU error which comes under the Local Area Network Configuration.
Follow this step:- (For those in other countries change MTU setting to 1492)
1. Go to http://192.168.1.1/ (for BSNL users only. Others use your default link given to you by your ISPs)
2. Under Configuration click Local Network (LAN)
3. Now look at the bottom of the page and you’ll get MTU setting as 1500. Change that to 1492
4. Click Apply
5. Restart your Router/Modem
